Garden Days
Garden Days invite guests to take part in the practical work that supports the estate. Depending on the season, tasks may include gardening, planting, clearing paths, pruning, small restoration jobs or general upkeep around the grounds. No experience is required—just energy and a willingness to get involved.
This full day starts at 9.30am, beginning with coffee and pastries. The day includes time working in the gardens, walking the estate and joining a short tour of the château, guided by Alison and Zion, to see areas not normally open to visitors. Everyone stops for lunch, with a glass in hand, making it a sociable experience shared with the owners and other participants.
These days suit visitors who enjoy hands-on activity and want to contribute to a real restoration project while spending time in a historic setting. Guests leave with a genuine sense of having helped shape a part of Château de la Boutinière’s future.
Our upcoming Garden Days are scheduled for:
– 24 April 2026
– 22 May 2026
– 9 June 2026
– 2 July 2026 – 24 July 2026 – 2 September 2026
If you would like to reserve your place, please get in touch.
Garden Days can also be arranged on a separate date for private groups, subject to availability, with a minimum of six guests.
Tea & Tour
Tea & Tour is designed for guests who would like to discover the château without taking part in practical work.
Visitors are welcomed at 2.30pm for an afternoon guided tour of the château and the surrounding gardens, with insights into the history of La Boutinière and the restoration projects underway. The visit concludes with tea and cake served in one of the château’s salons or on the terrace, giving guests time to talk, ask questions and enjoy the atmosphere of the afternoon.
Our next Tea & Tour visits will take place on:

Behind the Scenes Day
Behind the Scenes Day offers guests the chance to spend a full day at Château de la Boutinière and gain a closer understanding of the restoration work and daily life at the château.
The day begins at 9.30am with coffee and pastries, followed by a guided tour of the grounds with Alison and Zion. Everyone stops for lunch before continuing with a personal tour of the château interior, where guests are shown both completed spaces and areas still undergoing restoration.
Visitors are given an insight into past and current projects and may observe work in progress or, depending on timing, see filming taking place for Château DIY. Zion explains the processes behind his craft and designs, while Alison answers questions about interiors and living in a château. The day can be quiet and observational or more hands-on, depending on individual interest.
